Marc & Ann Savoy, stars of pure traditional Cajun music now and then travel and perform with Louisiana state champion fiddler, Ken Smith. Michael Doucet, who has been playing with the Savoys for the past 18 years, now and then can't be with his band, Beausoleil, and the Savoys at the same time. For those occasions, the Savoys have teamed up with the very talented Ken Smith to make this CD which includes old favorites and some great new instrumentals from accordion master Marc Savoy.

REVIEW . . . a long over due project featuring Marc and Ann Savoys other fiddler Ken Smith. Mike Doucet brings his own type of energy and influence to this traditional Cajun trio format, and Ken Smith cajoles and inspires a different kind of energy with his precision and dedication to authentic influences. Cajun music is approached by too many fiddlers as an excuse for playing loose and sloppy. In the hands of Ken Smith it is an art form with the highest standards and a perfect match for the Savoys.(Mark Sustic Champlain Folk Newsletter) |
