The Klezmorim, a band of young enthusiastic musicians intereted in early Jiddish klezmer music of central Europe wich was transplanted by immigrants to the lower East Side of New York in the early part of this century, was formed in Berkeley, CA in 1976 under the leadership of Lev Liberman, David Julian Gray and David Skuse. The Klezmorim and these recordings have encouraged and given rise to a number of other klezmer bands here in the US and Europe.
